3. What was your patient panel after a year?
199 (with 2 more days to go till 1 year
4. After how many months did you close?
N/A
5. What was your patient panel when you closed?
N/A
6. How many hours per day/ days per week do you work? or want to work?
My posted office hrs total 35 hrs/week but I am available almost all the time,
as early as 6:30AM and as late as 8PM, and occasional weekends, too. I would
like to work 30-40 hrs/week.
7. How many visits
do you average in a week?
Currently about 15 pts/week, goal is 50-60/week
8. What is
the seasonal variation of your practice? (ie. Elise's residency clinic sees 2500
patients through the summer and 3000 patients a month in the winter.)
This affects how long we won't have any money after starting. :) Too early
to tell if it's seasonal or just people starting to hear about me. But the week
of Christmas was very quiet.
9. How did
you advertise?
Local weekly newspaper, quarterly local community magazine,
sponsoring little league, donating to local educational groups. Most
patients have found me through word of mouth (40%), being a relative of an
established patient (15%) or by seeing my name in their insurance provider list
(12%). Paid advertising has accounted for only about 15% of new patients. Yellow Pages (free listing) 4%.
10. What is
your reimbursement average per RVU? (Ours is looking to be between $60 to
$62 for insurers and $37 Medicare and somewhere in the middle for
Medicaid and Tricare. We are in
I collect about $71 per visit. I don't calculate by RVUs
nor do I know how to.
