surveys

I moved into a new smaller space, and have configured the office so that I
can work entirely out of one room. Much more efficient in
terms of work
flow than previously, though slightly more claustrophobic for me.
I'm using a small anteroom (about 7'x6') as a patient kiosk, where patients
can come in before their scheduled appointments and fill in their Instant
Medical History (IMH), and HYH survey. The screen is set up for Instant
Medical History when they come in, and when they are done with the IMH, the
directions ask them to start on HYH, which is open in a browser window
behind the IMH screen. Last week I racked up 8 HYH surveys- it's a captive
audience.
Still working through the glitches, though- since I only have one
printer/AIO, it's physically tied to the computer in the anteroom. I have
patients exiting, picking up prescriptions and orders from that front
printer, and incoming patients doing their IMH
concurrently. The other day,
an outgoing patient tried to give her copay to an
incoming patient who was
doing her IMH- she thought I had hired a receptionist!
I also started using (was it Michelle's?) trailer on my email, and that
seems to have pulled in a few stragglers too. What I like about both of
these methods is that very little effort/nagging on my part is needed to get
the surveys in...
