Hi All,
Today is the last day of my first whole month doing my own book
keeping, and I'm so tickled that I wanted to share.
I started my solo (with a PA)practice in July '02, but never could
break even.  I saw Gordon at the Scientific Assembly in '03 and
again in '04.  Both times he told me that I just didn't have enough
control of costs.  So December 3rd I moved to a smaller office, did
not replace staff who quit, and started doing bill-paying with my
own little check-writing fingers.  Even with $13,000 in moving
expenses & attorney fees, and Medicare still holding onto my checks,
my net income for January is over three times what it ever was in
the two years previous.  WOW.
True, I am working a lot of hours, but I'm having fun and my
patients are loving it.  I am getting everyone in as soon as they
want (sometimes sooner than they really want!), and am turning new
patients away (six of them by 10:00 this morning).

I know that there is still a lot of rough road ahead, but it sure
feels good to see some light at the end of the tunnel.  Thanks to
Gordon, and to the rest of you who have shared your experience and
guidance.
